A Gold Block is a decorative mineral block crafted from golden ingots.
Obtaining[]
Gold Blocks can only be destroyed with an iron or diamond pickax.
Crafting[]
Nine Gold Ingots make one Gold Block.
Usage[]
Gold Blocks are a close-packed way to store Gold Ingots.
Note Blocks[]
Players can place Gold Blocks under Note Blocks to produce bell sounds.
Crafting Ingredient[]
Eight Gold Blocks and one Apple make one Magical Golden Apple. One Gold Block can also be crafted into nine Gold Ingots.
History[]
On May 21st, 2015, Brendan claimed he had an interest in adding metals to Venture. On June 20th, 2015, Brendan added Gold Blocks, albeit appearing with a plastic-like shine. At that time, Gold Blocks resisted explosions; however, this is no longer the case. Gold Blocks could be obtained by mining Gold Ore in that version. On October 24th, 2015, Brendan teased a texture change. Later that day, Brendan changed the texture to a redder gold.
On January 29th, 2016, Brendan added Gold Ingots and the recipe for crafting Gold Blocks.
As of February 27th, 2016, Blocks of Gould could be used to craft Golden Apples.
On October 30th, 2016, to coincide with Venture: Halloween, the major Night-Mare update was released. One of the changes was a modified Golden Block texture, which used what was formerly just the top texture on all sides.
On October 27th, 2017, Brendan modified the texture by removing the extremely dark gradients in the top-left and bottom-right corners of the texture. As of January 12th, 2018, normal Golden Apples were no longer crafted using Blocks of Gold. On August 1st, 2018, Brendan added the ability to craft Magical Golden Apples using Blocks of Gold. The inventory sprites were also flipped from left to right, once again changing the Gold Block's texture.
